Caravelle (Bulova) Bangle
Why We Love It
This is a beautifully simple, yet excitingly bold timepiece. The pronounced diamond-shaped case is juxtaposed by a petite bangle. We enjoy most how the sharpness implied by the diamond-form of the case is softened by rounded ellipsoidal edges. A crosshair dial with a punctuated 12 o’clock hour marker imbues the watch with an air of sophistication. It’s an absolute delight stacked or on its own.
About the Brand
Czech immigrant Joseph Bulova, inspired by Henry Ford’s manufacturing innovations, founded the eponymous brand in 1875 and in 1912 established a factory in Biel, Switzerland entirely dedicated to the manufacturing of watches while maintaining complimentary operations in Queens, New York. Subsidiary brands were established under the umbrella of Bulova leading including Wittnauer, Accu-Swiss, Accutron, Caravelle, and Marine-Star which lead to wide array designs offered by the brand at large. Vintage Bulova timepieces are appreciated universally and are a great value for both veterans and novices of the world of watches.
