Why We Love It

This Calatrava-style gold-plated Elgin has got just the right amount of flash attributed to the combination of its unadorned brushed silver dial and its integrated gold-plated mesh bracelet. The spaciousness of the dial paired with the thinness of the bezel gives the watch an overall luxurious quality without appearing ostentatious. This timepiece ultimately strikes a balance between smart and suave.

About the Brand

Elgin was originally founded in Elgin, Illinois in 1864 and was simultaneously a household name-brand and primary manufacturer of watches and other instruments for the U.S. Military through World War II. Elgin continued to produce watches for civilians domestically (often with the import and integration of Swiss movements) until 1968 when the rights of the name were purchased and the means of production were taken abroad. Under the subsequent number of various parties that oversaw the production of Elgin watches throughout its existence, myriad compelling models were designed and manufactured.
