Why We Love It
This vintage Tissot is as ‘mod’ as it gets, being charmingly reminiscent of a Mad Men era or the Jetsons. A couple of simple design choices make this watch sing such as its rectangular case with boldly radiused edges, its coved dial, and distinguished baton-style hands. It’s because of this simplicity, rather than in spite of it, that one’s eyes stay affixed to this timepiece. The simplicity too is what makes the piece ultimately versatile and appropriate for a variety of contexts.
About the Brand
Tissot was founded in 1853 in Le Locle, Switzerland by Charles-Felicien Tissot and his son Charles-Emile Tissot originally as a guild of sorts composed of independent craftsmen who produced watch parts to be sold to retail-focused watch companies. They eventually would enter retail themselves and become reputed for their luxury pocket and pendant watches. While they would later cultivate their line of sport watches, their quality would be maintained throughout the rest of their catalog. In fact, their 60s and 70s timepieces take on an aesthetic that would become unmistakably that of Tissot.

Condition: The case is in overall great condition showing minimal signs of wear with only light scratches that are normal with consistent age and use. There are no signs of any polishing on this case. The dial and hands have been well preserved and are in fantastic condition. The movement is accurate and maintains great time-keeping ability throughout the day.
