Zenith 'Zebra' Skin Diver
Why We Love It
There’s lots of fantastic oddities packed into this timepiece. Those oddities though such as the roulette ‘zebra’ bezel, cushion case, date window sandwiched between the 4 & 5 o’clock, and the thin bracelet come together harmoniously by some fantastic will of some Zenith designers and watch-makers. It’s fantastically loud and packs a powerful punch. Being a skin-diver on the smaller side allows it to sit incredibly comfortably on the wrist too.
About the Brand
In 1885, Georges Favre-Jacot founded Zenith in Le Locle, Neuchatel, Switzerland. The word ‘zenith’ refers to the highest point above a particular location and so it was chosen as the company’s name to represent the heights the company would aspire to. In 1911, the company started making wrist watches and although having had a rather turbulent evolution, Zenith is now known today as a premier watch brand. While Zenith's chronographs in particular gained a reputation for excellence and brought the company into its preeminence, the rest of its catalog follows suit in quality and design.
